03/09 2018 CPLP Short Film Festival

The 5th of May marks the International Day of Portuguese language, so we decided to celebrate the moment by screening short films from all the countries where Portuguese is an official language.

For this event we continued our collaboration with Arte Institute in New York, the French Institute in Romania, the Portuguese Embassy in Romania, the Fernando Pessoa Department, the Portuguese Language Centers in Romania and Camões – Instituto da Língua e da Cooperação. Thanks to the help we received from our partners, the screenings will take place in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara.

The festival consists in 9 short films shot in the countries where Portuguese is an official language, namely: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.

The aim of this festival is to familiarize the audience with cinematic productions from countries where Portuguese is an official language. From african legends, to social and economic problems, the festival brings forward a wide variety of themes which equally reflect the diversity of cultures in countries where Portuguese is an official language, as well as the diversity of Portuguese language.
